Kamiyama Maker Space: Closet

Combining local craftsmen in countryside Japan with new technologies like 3D printing, Lazercutting and Drone making

The Creative Mountain studio designed & made a display/closet for Kamiyama Maker Space to showcase all their great new prototypes and different tools that they use in the workshop.

Kamiyama Maker Space is a collective that uses new technology like 3D printing, lazer cutting, embroidery sewing machine and drones in combination with local Japanese craftsmanship and knowledge. The furniture made specially for this location in the Kamiyama Valley Satellite office used local Sugi, Japanese Cedar. The Creative Mountain studio designed & made this closet/workbench/display as an extension of the work surface. 

With the use of readymade plastic crates are normally in the neighbourhood used for storing Sudachi, a locally grown citrus. The frames provide a sliding path for the crates making it easy accessible and change.
