Variations for MONO Japan:

The Creative Mountain studio was asked by MONO Japan to design the 2022 & 2023 exhibition at Loods 6 in Amsterdam.

Sustainability was at the heart of this design, with a goal of zero waste and 100% pre-existing elements used. The team built a playful installation using industrial storage box-crates that were rented and returned, allowing for quick and flexible booth designs for each exhibitor.

Visitors were treated to a wide range of products, techniques, and craftsmanship, ranging from small objects to large installations. The crates provide varying heights and interactions, making this exhibition a truly dynamic and immersive experience.

Located in the Bagagehal of the KNSM island in Amsterdam, this exhibition was a nod to the building’s history as the arrival and departure hall for the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij. The theme of storage, packages, arrival, and departures was perfectly reflected in the creative use of crates, pallets, and containers to present the works of the exhibitors.

The best part? The virgin materials used in this exhibition were returned without alterations, leaving as little waste as possible.
