Polyvalent exhibition design

For the exhibition ‘Stralen en Reflecteren’, To shine & reflect, curated by Morgane de Klerk, The Creative Mountain Studio in collaboration with Boris De Beijer was invited to design and construct the showing of jewellery pieces from 12 international designers and artists whom are educated and currently based in the Netherlands. The first instalment of this traveling exhibition was at Atelier Néerlandais in Paris France in Oktober 2017 during the Parcours Bijoux festival.

Afterwards it was used in the 2018 exhibition Better Known as at Alcova during the Salone del Mobile.

“Jewelry and Contemporary jewellery are precious objects that tell a relationship between person and object. These are often intimate, fragile and personal stories. After visiting many Contemporary jewellery exhibition I was struck by the distance that was created by the exhibition between the object and visitor. Hidden in vitrines and covert by glas, the dialogue that is jewelry had a barrier that made the conversation distant and difficult. This design aims to provide a background with small recesses that make each work and visitor have their own dialogue. In line with the exhibition theme,To shine and Reflect, the opaque corrugated polyester walls provide a curious path for the visitor to wander and to discover the hidden gems. With very few details such as the black PVC rods that have been finished on the lathe, the black mat velvet and shiny acrylic surfaces provide the structure for the walls as well the jewelry. A polyvalent architectural intervention that isn’t site specific and ready for future installations.”

The second instalment was at Galerie Weltraum in Munich Germany during the Munich jewellery week 2018.

The third instalment was at Castrum Peregrini in Amsterdam 2018

The final instalment was at the Salone di Mobile as part of the Better known as
